Examiner Tutors is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people who receive tuition through our services. This Safeguarding Statement outlines our responsibilities and the measures we take to protect students during lessons.

1. Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We believe that every student has the right to learn in a safe, supportive and respectful environment. We follow safeguarding best practice in line with:

2. Responsibilities of Examiner Tutors

All tutors working with Examiner Tutors agree to:

  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times

  • Provide tuition in a safe and appropriate manner

  • Use respectful, age‑appropriate communication

  • Report safeguarding concerns immediately

  • Protect student confidentiality and personal data

  • Ensure online lessons are delivered safely and securely

We do not tolerate inappropriate behaviour, discrimination, harassment or exploitation.

3. Online Lesson Safety

To ensure safe online learning:

  • Students under 18 must have a parent/guardian present in the home during lessons

  • Tutors will only use approved communication platforms

  • Lessons may not be recorded unless agreed by both parties

  • Tutors will never request personal information beyond what is required for tuition

  • Tutors will not communicate with students outside agreed lesson channels

4. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

Parents/guardians must:

  • Ensure a responsible adult is present during online lessons

  • Provide a safe learning environment for the student

  • Inform us of any additional needs or relevant safeguarding concerns

  • Ensure students behave respectfully during lessons

  • Report any issues or concerns immediately

5. Reporting Safeguarding Concerns

If you have a safeguarding concern relating to a tutor or student, please contact us immediately.

We will:

  • Listen to your concern

  • Take appropriate action

  • Contact safeguarding authorities if required

  • Maintain confidentiality where possible
